Zoe: Three Months

Dear Slobber Monkey:

Well, Zoe, this is what your dad has been calling you for awhile now...slobber monkey! You are drooling like crazy, chewing on your hands or anything else that gets near your mouth and you just slobber on everything.

It is amazing how much you have changed in just three months. Your personality is coming out more and more...you are so laid back and rarely fuss. You are such an easy newborn, you make me think about having another one!!

You can hold your head up like a champ and have started sitting in the bumbo chair because you love to be up and looking out at the world. You love your play mat where you can bat at your toys and talk to all your little friends.

I am still shocked that you rolled over at 2.5 months. For the first 6 weeks, I was always afraid to put you on the floor because your brother is not the most cautious (I sometimes wonder how younger siblings survive!) :) You rolled back to your tummy...it will probably be awhile before you roll the other way since you just like to rest your head when you lay on your tummy :) You roll side to side all the time on the floor so you are starting to lose your hair all around the sides and it is really making you rock a mohawk!

You will talk to anyone who will listen to you. We have lengthy conversations on your changing table and I hear you talk and talk to your friends on your playmat. You absolutely love it when someone comes to talk to you. You just smile and coo and giggle as long as they are paying attention to you! You have the cutest giggle and are so ticklish.

You are an amazing sleeper. Occasionally you will sleep 8 pm to 7 am...but you are pretty consistent sleeper from 8 to 4 then eat before going back sleep until 8. Your momma and daddy really appreciate this!! I started putting you in your crib for the long stretch but secretly love it when you wake up and come curl up with me in bed. I am trying to soak up as much baby as I possibly can because I know how fast it will go. You change so much everyday and I want to enjoy every second before you grow up and don't want to snuggle with me!

Your brother still loves you so much. He loves on you so much that sometimes you cringe when goes walking by since you think you will be smothered in hugs and kisses.  You love to watch him run around and you love to talk to him when he comes over to play with you. When you are tired, you will actually start crying when he gives you kisses since his "snuggles" are probably more like a full body check in hockey! Luckily, you don't seem to mind most of the time though. I love watching your relationship bloom :)

You are starting to spend some time with Grammie now that I am back to work part time. I miss you so much while I am gone but I am glad you have the chance to have this special relationship with her. She will spoil you rotten, you don't even realize how lucky you are!

Zoe, I love watching you grow and I love experiencing the world through your eyes as you explore the world around you. I love you!!

XOXO,
Momma

 You can sleep anywhere!

Your daddy hates in when you have any bows or headbands so this will probably be only one of a few pictures we will have with you wearing one until you get longer hair! This Dr. Pooper shirt was your brothers so I thought I should put a bow on you so later we would know if it was you or Grey!

Zoe's Doctor Appointment: 3 months

With our trip to Missouri, we missed going to our 2 month check up.  We finally got in, but she will be 3 months tomorrow!

Everything looked good, she was all smiles for the doctor and also for the vaccine nurse...until she actually got her shots! Zoe gives the best little lip pout before wailing.  Am I a bad mom for saying it is one of the cutest things I have ever seen? You can see her cry coming at least 5 seconds before you hear a noise!

Weight: 12 pounds 7 ounces
Height: 23.5 inches

Our huge newborn is not such a big girl anymore and has dropped down into the 50-70 percentiles for weight and height. She is gaining steady but just not huge amounts. The doctor is not worried and I secretly like it since that means she will be little for longer!

Zoe can roll!

Stop! This cannot be happening! My little girl is not allowed to grow up, who told her she could roll? She is just 2.5 months old!! She has been going side to side for awhile now but would always get her arm pinned underneath her. On a soft surface(like her bed or ours), I would put her on her back but later find her on her tummy. I started video taping just hoping to catch some of her attempts and she must have known that she was on camera because she rolled for the first time! I still can't believe I got the first on video :)

Someone really loves his sister!

Grey is truly in love with his baby sister. If she is around, he is right there with her. I can't leave her more than two seconds or he will be right there...most of the time he is really gentle but he is starting to try to move her himself or tries to give her a big hug while climbing on top of her, etc. I am so glad that he loves her but I am sure she would just like a minute alone once and awhile!!

If he has a hat, she has to have a hat...

I try telling him that is her personal space but he just wants to be with her...
Grey is waiting for her to crawl away with him!

Even when she is in my lap, he has to join us!
Notice all the bottles behind her, I ran to get a diaper and he found the box of bottles and decided she needed them..
Then there are moments like this where she falls asleep in his arms. It melts a momma's heart!

Taste of summer

We got a taste of summer and are really looking forward to spending all our time outside and playing in the water! Unfortunately, it is cold and rainy right now but we know it will soon be here!

I love that Grey can entertain himself by cleaning all of his toys :) Not sure where he gets that from though....

You gotta love the winter gloves...
Notice that the ducks are running away as he is throwing the bread at them

He was so excited to get flip flops of his own!
Trying on our cool guy glasses with our swim suit

Love his style: rain boots, swim suit and winter gloves
Shorts = scraped knees for a boy who moves too fast!
Time to play ball!
Now it is raining again...poor child has to sit in a box to watch Curious George on the computer since our tv still isn't up :)

Blowouts

Oh how I have not missed blowouts....

Zoe heads to Missouri!

Zoe and I took a quick trip back to Missouri to watch Uncle Ben graduate from UCM. We are so proud of him and glad that he *finally* got to walk :)

It was fun catching up with family and friends and we really look forward to heading back in July!

Congrats, Uncle Ben!

Grey had a rough time when we left and everyone thought it was because he missed me. Turns out he just missed Zoe :) He wouldn't leave her side for days after we got back!
