Baby snorts!

I have posted a few posts this morning so make sure to scroll down to view them all!!

Eating by himself!

Grevin has decided he is a big boy and needs to feed himself....

Coastal Road Trip

Zippy was able to get out of work early last Friday so we headed to the coast. We hardly ever go north of Jenner so we headed out to Fort Ross and Salt Point. It was a beautiful drive, a great evening, and I really want to go camping out there soon!!

Pumpkin "Carving"

Since last weekend was super busy and this week has gone by in a sick blur, we still haven't carved our pumpkin and Halloween is tomorrow! Grevin and I headed out last night to do it but got distracted gutting it so it didn't get finished. I am so glad he is feeling better though!

"What is this thing??"

"This looks like fun!"

"Can I help get some out?"

"Yummy!"

"Who me? No, mommy, I wasn't eating the pumpkin even though you told me not to...."

"This stuff feels so cool!"

"But it tastes sooooo good!! I want to eat it!!"

Sick Baby

Poor sick Grey!

This week has gone by in a sleepless blur. Grammie called me Monday afternoon saying that Grey wasn't eating, wasn't his normal self, and had a fever of 102. He had been pulling at his ears for the last week as well and I decided to take him in to get his ears checked on Tuesday. It turns out he has some virus that is going around which is causing the fever and upset stomach...AND he also has ear infections in both ears. Poor guy!! The nurse did not believe me when I said that he still had a fever on Tuesday because he was smiling and laughing and playing. She took it I think to appease me and was shocked it was 103. From Monday through Wednesday he had a fever of 102-103 and it finally broke late Wednesday. We didn't see our normal doctor so we have a follow up appointment with him next Wednesday to see if his ears are clear. Grevin and I are headed to Missouri in a week and I really don't want to find out that his ears are still bothering him as we lift off for an almost 4 hour flight!! His ears actually seem to be bothering him worse now that the fever has broken. He wakes up multiple times a night screaming in pain. I spend a couple of hours each night with him sleeping on my chest in the rocking chair so he can get some rest sitting upright. He is so happy during the day but as soon as the sun goes down....

No more avocado

One of the first things Grevin ate was avocado. He LOVED it!! For the past month, he would open his mouth for anything we had...but I think it is starting to change....he actually turned down food for the first time. This video was taken a couple of weeks ago when we went out for sushi for his 7 month birthday (we go EVERY birthday for sushi!!)

Amazing...

It truly is amazing how fast Grevin is changing. It seems like once he learned how to crawl, it is none stop from there. Grandpa has been saying 'arms up' to Grevin since he was a couple months old. This weekend, he decided to actually listen! :)

And here is a video of him waving-just for you Zephy! It cracks me up how he just sticks his arm straight out :)

Pumpkins, Parties, and Haircuts, oh my!

On Saturday, we went with the Parish's to the Tollay Fall Festival. Fletcher's 2nd birthday is coming up and his grandparents came up to visit and celebrate his birthday a little early. The festival was so much fun. They had old tractors, creepy crawly night creatures in an old barn(like big snakes, tarantulas, owls, bats, etc!), sack races, scare crow building, stick horse races, and lots of yummy food. They also have a tractor that takes you on a hay ride out to a field where you can pick your pumpkin. It was so much fun I think we are going to go there for our Halloween pumpkin every year!

Zippy and Grevin participating in the horse race!

Grevin and I heading out to the pumpkins on the tractor

Grevin picked out this pumpkin with the help of his dad. Zippy wanted one that Grey could sit on.

It was really really windy out there and Grevin's hair kept getting into his eyes....driving both of us crazy!

You can tell he is 1/2 Missourian.
He looks right at home with straw in his mouth and in a wheel barrow!

The Parish Family and the DeShazer Family with their pumpkins
We headed back to the Parishs for some yummy food and birthday cake. While we were waiting, Tanya broke out the costumes and she had one that fit Grevin! I just wanted to cuddle with my little monkey, he is so cute!!!

Fletcher kept petting Grevin :-)

I know I have been anti-hair cutting for Grevin but the day at the pumpkin patch really made me change my mind. It is a good thing that Fletcher's grandpa is a barber! He had all of his stuff with him and we decided to just do it. We decided we would give Grevin's hair a 'trim' not a cut :-) He was so good and held still for the whole entire process. I think it helped that we were outside and there was plenty to look at!

SEVEN MONTHS?!

Dear Grevin,
I know I say it every month, but I really wish time would slow down! This month has been an incredible month with so many new changes, you really are a mobile baby now with an opinion of your own! In the span of one week you started crawling, got your first tooth, and started to wave!! You have been on the brink of all three for awhile now and they all came together in a culmination of many sleepless nights.

You are really rocking the comb over now:) Your hair is getting so long and we keep having people tell us to cut it...but you will look so grown up if we do! We are attempting to hold out until your first birthday but we may have to give in before then so you can see where you are going!

This month has also been about EATING. You have eaten everything we have given you, sometimes you make faces like it tastes HORRIBLE but go back willingly for more(apples!). Your favorites seem to be the sweet peas much to your Grammie's disbelief. Grandma Oglesby and Grammie both HATE peas! You have also tried zucchini, banana, sweet potatoes, baby oatmeal, pears, apples, green beans, and avocado. You have yet to turn anything down. I have started giving you a couple of puffs to see how you do chewing and you took to them like you have always been eating them. You even throw them back down onto the tray if you pick them up with the palm of your hand and try again to use your pincher grasp.

You never stop moving. I tried to do our normal 'photo shoot' for the month and I could not get you to stay on the sheet or pose with the pumpkin-you are already ignoring your mother's wishes :) I also tried to get our monthly shot with the soccer ball, but you did not want to cooperate with that either so I got a video instead!

Your wave is so cute even though it might be a little Hilter-like. You stick your arm straight up and out and make a noise. When someone waves back, you smile and laugh like it is the funniest thing in the world.

You do not want to go to bed at night. You use to go down easily at 7, now I am doing good to get you to bed at 8. I think you just want to see your dad! You could be drifting to sleep and wake up very excited if you hear the key in the front door. The good thing about going to bed later is that you don't wake up until after 7 am now...

We are having so much fun with you-I am so thankful that you are in our lives, Grey. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings...

Love,
Mommy

Crawling Video

Just ignore me talking in the background. And the nasty walls where the dogs have rubbed up against them :) Just look at the star of the show and his chatting!

Wedding Weekend

Grevin all dressed up for the wedding...but a little tired! We went to Zippy's cousin's wedding this weekend in Healdsburg at his Aunt Patty's house. It was absolutely beautiful and probably the best ceremony that I have ever seen...it included shots of whiskey with the officiant, a baseball glove to catch the rings, vintage dresses(great grandmother's wedding gown) and bolo ties! It was REALLY windy and cold even at 4 pm and Grey is not a huge fan of the wind. Needless to say, he hung with us for a little while(nursed through most of the ceremony!) and then we went inside to crawl around with his cousin!
My two handsome guys

I just want to pinch those cheeks!!
