Silver Falls

Note to self-if we plan another trip in April, we will be driving 10 hours south instead of north!! It rained, it snowed, it hailed....but it still did not stop us from having a good time :) I am so glad we decided to stay in the rustic cabins in Silver Falls instead of trying to camp. When it was in the 30s, I was really enjoying the heaters in the cabin even though we still had to cook outside and the camp restrooms were a long walk in the rain. We splashed in puddles, ate lots of yummy food, hung out with family, and hiked when it wasn't pouring down rain.  Grevin had so much fun exploring, playing in the mud, throwing rocks, and finding sticks.  He learned how to say "tree" and would point them out to everyone!  I am so glad he was walking, I couldn't have imagined if he wanted to crawl through the mud....

All packed(think we can fit anything else??) and ready to hit the road (10 hour drive to Eugene)  Grey was a trooper...
Reading the paper in bed with dad at the hotel
Watching the rain come down on the front porch of the cabin with Grandpa DeShazer
Playing with his tractor-waiting for the rain to stop
Well, since the rain wasn't going to stop anytime soon, let's go out and play!  And isn't his hat the cutest??  We didn't bring one with us so Grammie knitted him one the first night we were there.
Cooking in the rain-the shade tent came in handy!
Grey's favorite thing to do...throw rocks in the puddles
Muddy face!
Hiking the falls
Hiking behind North Falls
Uncle Tyler and Grey hiking the trail!
Tired after his long hike
Grey and his Grandpas getting snowed on (we had just stepped outside-it wasn't snowing yet-to take pictures...that is why Grey doesn't have a coat on!!  I might get the mommy of the year award for this one!)
The whole gang

so much fun and so beautiful!! you got some great pictures

but I have to be honest I think i'd have a heart attack with H there. I'd have to buy her a whole new set up camping clothes so she won't ruin her clothes:) She definitely doesn't have "mud clothes:) What am I going to do if I have a boy?

Glad Grey didn't crawl through the mud. That would be my child...definitely. Looks like a ton of fun but WAY more fun if it was hot and sunny!
