Fall 2012

I am playing major catch up now! Grey did kinderkickz again this fall and Zoe, Grammie, and I enjoyed our afternoons hanging out watching him and playing at the park. Zoe can't wait until she can join him!
Daddy was gone quite a bit in October (Virgin Islands with us, then Costa Rica and later Las Vegas for work) so we spent lots of quality time checking out pumpkin patches around the county (I think we made it to 3 or 4 of them!)  We love fall, pumpkins, and anything Halloween!

Zoe painted pumpkins better than I thought she would. We made it about 5 whole minutes before she started painting her toes and trying to eat it....

One of the pumpkin patches had a HUGE corn pit. Both the kids loved playing in it :)

Love this pic with Ripley checking to see if the cookies were done baking yet!
We have been doing a lot of hiking at a local regional park. It is small enough that Zoe can do quite a bit of the hiking by herself so I don't need to drag a stroller along anymore. She is getting so big!

We have a favorite spot there that has a huge old oak tree with limbs that go to the ground so the kids can climb to their hearts desire....and there is a creek that runs right by it. It is usually a dry creek bed except for winter time when it is fun to throw rocks into the water!

Zoe definitely believes she is just as big as Grey. He wanted me to take a picture of him for daddy showing how high he had climbed. After taking the picture, I turned around to do something and heard "me too!" from Zoe. I turned around and she had climbed exactly into the same spot Grey had just been!

Unfortunately, we were not able to host our annual pumpkin carving party this year because we didn't know what state our house would be in (we had to have siding replaced so the backyard was crazy). We invited a couple friends though and had a nice mellow carving day!

Grey was the toughest firefighter ever and he had a trusty dog as his companion for Halloween!

His school hosted a "halloween parade" around the downtown park. It was so cute to see all the kids dressed up!

We headed to Ripley's house for some pre-trick or treating dinner before braving the storm to go door to door. The kids had a blast walking around in the rain. Luckily, we can still get away with only going to a couple houses because even in that short time we were DRENCHED! Poor Zoe looks like a drowned puppy!!

We had another adventure this fall. Our friends were going out to clam and we decided to join them out at Dillon Beach. It was FREEZING cold when we got there. This is not what I typically consider beach wear!

We had fun digging holes, flying kites, and checking out the sea life.

When the tide headed out, we watched the clamming for awhile. They would take this big tube, stick it over where they saw the clam come up for air, then dig frantically down to get to the clam.
Zoe and I headed down for a closer look...
We were splashing in puddles and couldn't see where they had been digging the holes and she fell into the icy water all the way up to her shoulders!!  BURRR!!!

And this picture is just because I think it's cute :)
Grey had his second annual Thanksgiving performance this year with his preschool. It was so very excited to get all dressed up and couldn't wait to wear his tie. He seriously lives for dressing up!

 Grammie and Zoe waiting beforehand!
When they called the kids up to the stage, Zoe insisted on going and his teacher took her up there! I am going to enjoy this while it lasts. Grey still likes to have her around and she wants to be with him. I know it won't last forever!
Grey has had a rough and tough fall. He has been so busy that he gets lots of bumps and bruises. This scrape is from a fall out of the tree in our front yard.

This bump was from Zoe fighting back. He likes to wrestle and tackle her to the ground. This time, she was armed with a phone when he did it and whacked him in the head!
This was a little of the demolition to our house this fall. All of the rotten siding has been replaced, most of the windows have been upgraded to dual pane, and we just had it painted. I am a little over home improvement projects for awhile since our house has been a construction site for the last two months!!
