Sleepless Nights...Sleep Crawling

For the last week, no one has slept well at our house. Zippy and I had a crazy weekend last weekend which meant that we were out late both Friday and Saturday night so any inkling of a schedule we had with Grey was thrown out the window. Sunday night I woke up and could have sworn it was 6 am already considering Grey had been up 10 times. Nope-it was 1 am and he had fallen asleep at 8:30! Then, he started crawling and it got worse. As he sleeps in bed with us, I got to witness first hand, him getting into the crawling position with his eyes STILL CLOSED! He was sleep crawling!!. Anytime now he is on his back, he flips immediately over and tries to crawl. Ugh. He used to wake up a few times at night but would be back to sleep within minutes but not this week. He is up and partying every time he stirs. Other than the sleepless nights, he seemed to be in great spirits, having a blast with Grammie, and just same ol' Grey.

Well, I think Grammie figured out what was going on yesterday when she was feeding him with a metal spoon and heard a clinking sound. He has a tooth that broke through!! I have felt it once now, he doesn't want us sticking our fingers in his mouth to feel it and his tongue or fingers are always in the way so I haven't been able to spot it yet but it is sharp! No wonder he hasn't been sleeping between the crawling and teething this week. Last night, I gave him some tylenol and he still had a hard time falling asleep but once he was out, I was able to get 4 hours of solid sleep before Zippy started snoring! Grey only woke up twice last night and didn't move the rest of the night. I hope we are back to a normal night again...

That is a lot for a little guy to handle in one week! Maybe it's time for him to move to his own bed after the tooth comes in...then you won't have to be paranoid he will crawl right off your bed!!!

Just wait until he learns how to stand up but doesn't know how to get down. That's even more fun! I'm glad to hear his little tooth finally popped through.
